Greetings Fellow LoonPonders!

Greetings Fellow Loon Ponders.

Kez here. In a Pond comment sometime ago I half-heartedly threatened to create a blog of the various parodies and poems I've posted on the Pond over the last near decade since I discovered it.

With the knowledge that Dorothy has not been well lately, I now view any cessation of her postings as a possible sad occasion for herself, her family, and...selfishly...for us commenters who were fortunate enough to discover and contribute to her wonderful blog.

Without wishing to appear maudlin, the hard fact is that in a DP-less world, any comments to her blog will be impossible only two days from today, and because of their anonymity, commenters to the Pond will undoubtedly lose touch with each other.

In light of this I have decided to open my own blog so any previous commmenters can continue Pond-type musings in any way they wish. I sincerely hope today's non-posting is just a false alarm and that Dorothy is simply temporarily AWOL.

I have called this blog The Puddle in humble homage to Dorothy's totally unique and fabulous creation. Until stumbling into the Pond one fateful day I had never thought of commenting online, let alone publishing verse or parodies, but Dorothy's keen wit, effortless prose, scathing critiques of the reptiles, and her love of poetry and song inspired me to post my own poems and ditties.

This blog will be just a puddle in comparison to the Pond in that it is a tiny offshoot of the herculean body of work that Dorothy has produced over the last 5,606 days since her first post on July 24, 2009.

I know nothing of blogging so this has been a totally learn as I go experience. I haven't got any poems, limericks or ditties to post today as it is mainly a call out to fellow Ponders in the possible event of the sad loss of our esteemed Dorothy. I'll sort them out on future posts. I will definitely not be as dedicated and prolific as our tireless DP, and I certainly don't propose to selflessly confront the dreaded reptiles on a daily basis like she did!

I hope this works. Here goes!

Cheers all, Kez.
